So, Ryker and I are walking home from his school (about 4 blocks from our house) and it is freezing cold outside. I told him that snowflakes were starting to stick to his eyelashes, and naturally he wanted me to take a picture of it.

Ryker is my "helper" child. He loves helping with any and all work that needs to be done around the house and yard....even if that means shovelling out snow hills that are bigger than her is.

We were out shovelling snow, during a slight break in the wind, and Max was looking at a drift off in the distance. He didn't even realize that I was holding a camera in his face.

So, we've been looking at new lighting for our house because everything in this place is so outdated.....and this particular wall sconse struck me. I had to get a shot of it.

We've been getting a LOT of snow lately. This is a huge overhang outside my front door.

Sorry, but lately my computer time has been limited due to family and work blah blah. However, I do still take a photo a day and will post them here as often as I can. Here is my pic for the 6th.....I am really not a fan of winter or snow, but dang can it make for some awesome pictures.

You Don't See This in the City Every Day

So, I'm driving home from taking my hubby's drycleaning in, and I think to myself; "I'm going to go drive by the lake.....I haven't been there since summer. And you would not believe what I saw there -- right in the middle of the city.

Alright, here is my second photo. It is frost on my front window. I love the intricate shapes that frost makes on glass. It's like amazing pieces of art.

Welcome to my Photo Blog

Hi there.....so I'm trying something new here in the new year. A friend of mine actually gave me the idea (read: I totally stole this idea from Dyanne).

Anyway, the premise is that you take a photo a day for the entire year and publish it to your photo blog. Since I didn't have a photo blog, and didn't want to post them on my regular blog, I decided to start this here blog.


I realize I am a few days late, but I have actually taken a picture for each of these first 4 days in January. I have decided that I am going to post them today in 4 seperate posts. I hope you enjoy them and join me on my journey as I play with my recently discovered love of photography.


Here is my January 1st photo. The weather was actually not too bad, and snow was melting off the trees in my backyard. I'm not sure what the light is in the bottom right corner.
